Clueless
With a twist on the lives of high school kids living in Beverly Hills, the initial thought is that Clueless will be not much more than the name implies. However, after getting a few minutes into the film, there is reason to believe that Clueless is one of the best romantic comedies of its time. The fact that there are still huge fans out there, eleven years later, tells you one thing.
Cast
The cast of Clueless really brought the movie alive. They were adorable and very funny. The cast was lead by Alicia Silverstone, who has a great resume still today. In addition to her comedic talents, Stacey Dash brought her humor and talent to the table as well. Brittany Murphy had her breakthrough role in this movie, and did so well she went on to do much more. Paul Rudd played the step brother/love interest, which was somewhat odd and cute at the same time. Lastly, Donald Faison played Dash’s boyfriend and the two of them had fabulous onscreen chemistry.
Script
The storyline of the movie is adorable. There are rich kids from Beverly Hills going through the “trials and tribulations” of being in high school and of being rich. They are dealing with issues of dating, shopping, and dating some more. The story however ends up making these kids look less spoiled and more engaging that was ever thought possible. They even help the “nerd” Tai become a cool girl, which is rather endearing throughout the movie.
